At the end of its life-cycle a cell foam product can be recycled in many different ways. It can be grinded and re-used in the manufacture of packaging and insulation panels, or be mixed in aerated concrete products. By mixing the grinded cell foam into soil you get a spongy breeding ground or a material that helps water sewerage.
Recycling is not always the economically or environmentally preferable solution. In that case, energy recovery, or incineration is the best option. By burning cell foam at a sufficiently high temperature as such or mixed with garbage, you can obtain the high calorific value of cell foam while reducing waste incineration emissions. At the landfill cell foams are a stable and non-toxic waste.
